TJMS Student Announcements - Tuesday, April 12, 2016 -- Day A
1) Birthdays Today - April 12th...Jonathan Beltran Jara, Tashawn Vance, Adam Ward.
2) Our school is in a contest for a grant for money to get a greenhouse and more hydroponics, but it requires a vote. You can vote once a day between now and April 18. Please vote, vote often, and share! Thanks!!! https://www.seedsofchangegrant.com/GalleryDetail.aspx?id=2225
3) 9th Annual Dubuque Senior High School Rams Cheerleading Day Camp is Saturday, April 30th from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the Main Office to pick up a registration form; April 19th is the last day for registration.
4) On Wednesday, April 27th there is a player and parent meeting for any girl interested in playing softball this summer for Senior. The meeting will be at Senior in the cafeteria at 7:00 p.m. and should last about 1 hour. Tryouts for Senior softball for 8th graders will take place beginning Monday, May 9th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
5) Creative Arts is cancelled today, April 12th. It will meet again Thursday, April 14th.
6) The Hillhawk Herald newspaper will be cancelled today, April 12th. It will meet this Thursday, April 14th.
7) This Friday during lunch we will have another HillsBills raffle. There are again T-shirts, basketballs, water bottles, ect……all kinds of fun stuff. Bring your HillsBills to the lunch room on Friday.
8) The Hard Rocks at Horseshoe Bluff LEAP activity was cancelled due to weather on April 4th, student who signed up for this can go on April 18th. Sign-up after school in cafeteria.
9) Congratulations to the following Hillhawks for their terrific art work that was on display at The Dubuque Museum of Art. The art exhibit concluded on April 1st. Hillhawks participating in the art exhibit were: Elleyna Heims (Animal Drawing), Caleb Heims (Partner Portrait), Jace Pins (Animal Watercolor), Faith Jasper (Stamp Design), Libby Jones (Stamp Design) and Jessica Droessler (Shoe Drawing).
10) Jefferson Special Olympic athletes traveled to North Scott HS on Saturday, April 9th to compete in Track and Field events. Here are the results. Dawson Mussman - 1st in 50m dash and 2nd in softball throw. Simeon Johnson - 1st in softball throw and 1st in 100m dash. Payton Gibson - 2nd in softball throw and 1st in 100m dash. Katie Carlson - 2nd in softball throw and 2nd in 100m dash. Michaela Ward - 2nd in softball throw and 1st in 100m dash
