7) With warmer weather upon us, many students are wanting to have water with them throughout the day. Our expectation is that students use see through bottles that contain only water. Colored and flavored drinks are not allowed. Flavor packets are also not allowed and can not be added to the water.

3)  Cell phone expectations:  Cell phones are only allowed during lunch and in the hallway prior to the 7:35 AM bell.  During the remaining times, cell phones should not be used without permission of the teacher.  

4) IDs & Lanyards:  It is a district-wide expectation that all students in grades 6-12 have and wear a lanyard and ID.  This is for our students safety and security.  Students who do not have their ID/lanyard will need to get a temporary ID sticker for the day.  After 4 stickers have been requested by the student, a lunch detention will be served for not being responsible.  Each additional day without a ID/lanyard will result in a lunch detention.  If a student has chronic issues with not having an ID/lanyard, a parent meeting will be scheduled and after school detention assigned.  Replacement IDs and lanyards are available for purchase for $3 or 20 Hills Bills.

2) If you are in the musical, Hairspray, then please listen to this announcement. All members of the cast need to attend rehearsal on Monday, March 5th. Starting on Monday, rehearsals will be 4 days per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday all through the month of March. If you are in basketball, you need to show up Monday at the beginning of rehearsal to check in with Mrs. Duggan. Otherwise, we will think you quit the show. We have a new ending time. Rehearsals will end at 4:30 every day. However, if you ride the activity bus, then you will be dismissed at 4:00.

Boys and girls all ages are being offered a Duhawk Basketball Spring Break Clinic on Saturday, March 24th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25, stop by the main office if you would like a registration form.

Students will produce at least 1 hip hop recording using Cubase recording software. Program will meet twice per week for four consecutive weeks beginning March. Dates are March 6th and 8th, 13th and 15th, 20th and 22nd, and April 10th, 11th, 12th.

4) Hairspray rehearsals begin next week Thursday after school. All cast members attend the first rehearsal. See Mrs. Duggan for a rehearsal schedule. If you are in a sport, please report to rehearsal first and we will write you a pass to sports practice.

5) Congratulations to Emmelia Pitt and Ellie Hermiston for being selected to participate in the Young Musicians Honor Band in Cedar Rapids on February 17th. The band will be made up of 100 students from over 50 schools in the region.
