2) All Live Healthy Iowa calendars must be turned in by today, April 30th. The Wellness teachers will not accept them anymore after this date. The Open Gym for students that turned in all 5 calendars is tentatively set for Wednesday, May 7th during 1st period. Any questions, please ask Mr. Wischmeyer or Mrs. Lucas.
3) No after school activities today, we are running on an early release schedule.
4) Hillhawk Helpers please stop and see Mr. Hatcher before Friday and let him know if you want to go zip-lining this Friday with the rest of the Hillhawk Helpers? There are only 15 spots available.

Fighting Saints Playoff Game Tickets
The Dubuque Fighting Saints are offering Jefferson friends and family a blanket discounted rate to attend our first playoff game, held April 18th against the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders. Ticket prices are $9.50 and must be ordered through the Fighting Saints before April 17th.

Discount Card Fundraiser!
It's time for our 2nd annual Discount Card Fundraiser. Discount
Cards will be distributed to students on Friday, April 11, 2014. Students will be selling the cards for $10
each. The money raised will be used for
student activities and programs.
Activities and programs include sports, drama, classroom activities,
transportation for field trips and anything that is a direct support to the
students at Jefferson.
Students
should not try to sell the cards door-to-door to people they do not know. We would ask the students to sell these to
family, relatives and friends. Students
are not required to participate in this fundraiser.
The following is a list of prizes that students will have the opportunity to win. The top three sellers in the school will have the first choice of any prize they would like on the list. For any student that sells three cards their name will be submitted for a drawing at the end of the fundraiser for all the remaining prizes. For every card a student sells after three cards their name will be submitted again for the drawings. So if a student sold 4 cards their name would be submitted twice for the drawings. If a student would sell 5 cards their name would be submitted three times, and so on.

Students are to be recording screen time and activity minutes on these calendars. The green calendars (water servings/activity minutes) are due right now to Mrs. Lucas and Mr. Wischmeyer. 3) Spring Jefferson LEAP Zipline dates will be: Monday (4-21-2014), Wednesday (4-23-2014), Friday (4-25-2014), Monday (4-28-2014), Wednesday (4-30-2014), Friday (5-2-2014), and Monday (5-5-2014). Sign-up after school in the cafeteria with Mrs. Beau if you haven’t already! Groups and classrooms are encouraged to sign-up together.
4) BATTLE OF THE BOOKS TEAMS...We will have a Battle of the Books quiz this week in the LRC. Tuesday, April 1st, 8th grade teams will meet at 11:00 and 6th grade teams will meet at 11:30. Friday, April 4th, 7th grade teams will meet in the LRC at 11:00. Each student needs to bring their Battle of the Book that they are currently reading and a pencil.
1) Jefferson Wellness classes are participating in Live Healthy Iowa Kids again this year. The 5th and final purple calendar began March 22nd and will go through April 4th. Students are to be recording screen time and activity minutes on these calendars. The green calendars (water servings/activity minutes) are due right now to Mrs. Lucas and Mr. Wischmeyer. Any questions, please ask the Wellness teachers.
2) 6th graders interested in boys and girls basketball, make sure you have an updated physical on file. Basketball Intramurals start April 7th for boys and April 8th for girls.
