4) 1) We appreciate Middle School students coming out to games at Dalzell Field to support the Rams and Mustangs. There are some general rules and expectations that must be followed by all students and will make the games more enjoyable for all patrons. 2) Bags and backpacks are not allowed in the stadium. These will be taken at the gate if you bring them to the game. There is no need for them at the game, please leave them home. 3) Outside drinks and food are not allowed at the stadium. We have a great concession stand and there is no need to bring food or drink items with you. You will not be allowed in the stadium with food or drinks. 4) Middle School students must sit in the lower section. No sitting in the upper section unless you are sitting next to your parents. 5) Students may use the restrooms, buy snacks or apparel. However, we have found too many times that students are congregating on the concourse and blocking access for other patrons to access those areas and causing disruptions for the fans watching the games. 6) Students are to sit in their assigned areas. Students are not allowed to congregate in the restrooms, concourse areas, or near the concession stand. 7) If students are asked to sit down by stadium personnel or school administration, do so immediately. Students that are repeatedly approached by stadium staff or administration will be asked to leave and are subject to being banned from future games at Dalzell Field.

5) To any 7th grade students that have not received your vaccinations for this school year, the VNA is offering a shot clinic tomorrow. Please call 556-6200 to schedule an appointment.

6) Dear Jefferson Girls and Parents (s):

It has become apparent in my two years here that our students do not have some of the opportunities that other middle school students do to play sports outside of school. This concerning as sports are one way for students to be connected to school.

I wrote a grant to the HavLife foundation to sponsor three girls’ basketball teams in the Dubuque Y Sports Association (DYSA) league. We received the grant. This is an excellent opportunity for our girls to learn about the game of basketball, being a good teammate and to be competitive.
Here is the basic information:

Who: Any Jefferson Middle School girl interested in playing basketball.

What: Play in the DYSA Girls’ Basketball League September 30th – October 28th at Roosevelt Middle School. Game will be held on Saturdays and the girls will play double headers during the league season.

Cost: It is free!

Practice: We will practice once a week for sure. We will work around 7th and 8th grade volleyball practice and games. Younger siblings cannot attend practice.

If you are interested in your daughter participating, please complete the following information and return it to Kelly Molony (Principal) by August 25th.
