Student Announcements - Friday, November 7, 2014 - Day A

1) Can you sing, dance, act, or play an instrument? Auditions for the Jefferson Talent Show are Tuesday, November 18th, or Wednesday, November 19th after school in the auditorium. Acts for the talent show will be selected from the auditions on those days. Acts should be three minutes or less with appropriate content. All preparation/practices for the auditions has to be done outside of school. Any questions? See Ms. Baumann.

2) Birthdays Today - November 7th...Jack Hanson. November 8th...Alec Nissen, Isaac Nissen. November 9th...Sean Bradley, Carly Dalberg, Abigail Kramer.

3) Our new student designed t-shirts are in! Dylan Link, Orion Rausch, and Sami Clark all had a hand in designing out new HillHawk t-shirts. Shirts will be on sale during lunchtime hours today and Monday for $6. Get yours today!

4) Jefferson Spirit Wear is now on sale: We have red and charcoal gray t-shirts in stock and they are $6 each. These designs can be special ordered on long-sleeved t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts in red, gray, tie dye, and camo. 6) The 7th and 8th grade wrestling did a great job at our first meet, at Washington, with Roosevelt. Our 7th grade numbers are really low, but we had a number of wrestlers that haven't been in a meet before. We went 15 wins and 17 losses. Both Hill Hawk coaches were very proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship of our team.

7) Reminder...ITP Testing is next week, Monday through Thursday.

Imagination Library Would you like to get a free book mailed to your home every month for your preschooler? The United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States and Women United invite the community to celebrate the launch of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that offers one free book every month to each child who is enrolled. Any child who lives in Dubuque County and will be under the age of five in January is eligible for the program until their fifth birthday. We invite you to stop by the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Kick-Off Event on November 15 anytime between 9-11 AM at NICC Downtown (700 Main Street) Dubuque. Iowa Testing Program Students will be taking the ITP (previously known as the ITBS) tests during the week of November 10th. Tests will be administered during the first two hours each day that week.
