TJMS Student Announcements - Tuesday, October 4, 2016 -- Day A
1) Tonight is the 6th grade Track Meet!! The meet starts @ 5:15 p.m. Due to Senior football practice, no one will be allowed into Dalzell until 5:00 p.m. We ask that everyone use the main gate, on the east side of the stadium, to enter. We ask parents sit on the top half of the bleachers, while the athletes will sit with their schools on the lower half of the bleachers.
2) Birthdays Today - October 4th...Brandon Thornton.
3) Sports Today - Girls Red Volleyball...Jefferson Red vs. Roosevelt Silver. 7th grade at Roosevelt and 8th grade at Jefferson. 7th Grade Football...Jefferson vs. Drexler Black at Farley Middle School beginning at 4:15 p.m. Jefferson Cross Country meet at West Delaware beginning at 4 p.m.
4) Academic support is being offered for students on a weekly basis at the Multicultural Family Center. For a registration form please stop by the main office.
5) Open Gym for girls basketball is Wednesday, October 5th from 4 to 5:45 p.m. in south gym.
6) There will be an informational meeting about Battle of the Books for interested 6th grade students in the Library at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5th.
7) Because of all the wet weather, the rest of the football season all Drexler football games will be played at the middle school in Farley due to the high school field being in rough shape. The high school field will only be used for 9-12 grade games. As a result we will not have a concession stand and hope to have a portable scoreboard near the field. Your fans should bring their lawn chairs since there will be limited bleacher seats. We will also have portable bathrooms for the games. Finally we won’t charge admission for these last 2 weeks for football because of the change. Yes I did say no charge for football!!!!!!
8) MAP testing is now completed and the LRC is OPEN again! Please check your library books. Return if they are overdue or renew if you are not finished reading them.
