1)Attention all Girls! Camp Hollywood: Divergent is based on the book and movie Divergent by Veronica Roth. Determine your faction, experience interactive roleplaying, watch the movie, and most importantly come learn what it means to be Divergent! If you are interested, pick up a flyer in the main office for more information.

2) Birthdays Today - October 27th...Cyric Hook.

3) Can you sing, dance, act, or play an instrument? Auditions for the Jefferson Talent Show are Tuesday, November 18th, or Wednesday, November 19th after school in the auditorium. Acts for the talent show will be selected from the auditions on those days. Acts should be three minutes or less with appropriate content. All preparation/practices for the auditions has to be done outside of school. Any questions? See Ms. Baumann.

Volunteers Needed Become a JA Volunteer! Volunteers are a vital part to the success of JA programs. By sharing their own personal life experiences, volunteer’s help students understand how the skills they are learning in school apply to the world of work. JA provides everything you need: * Training for new volunteers. * Materials needed for each lesson and activity. * Support from JA Staff to answer any questions or provide suggestions. Your commitment: * Five lessons to take place once a week for five weeks. Lessons typically run 30-45 minutes per visit. * Coordinate schedule with classroom teacher. * Have FUN! Classrooms in need at Thomas Jefferson Middle School: Fall (starting ASAP and ending before winter break) 7th grade – Emily Kelley. Taught at beginning of school day for 45 minutes. 7th grade- Sherry Meyer. Taught at beginning of school day for 45 minutes. Spring (starting in Feb./March and ending before the school year is over) 7th grade- Katelyn Glennon

Imagination Library Would you like to get a free book mailed to your home every month for your preschooler? The United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States and Women United invite the community to celebrate the launch of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that offers one free book every month to each child who is enrolled. Any child who lives in Dubuque County and will be under the age of five in January is eligible for the program until their fifth birthday. We invite you to stop by the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Kick-Off Event on November 15 anytime between 9-11 AM at NICC Downtown (700 Main Street) Dubuque.
