1) Do you like to design and create? Are you a team player? Do you want to learn how to program a robot? Do you like Legos? If you answered yes to all questions, we want you to join First Lego League. Practices will be from 11:55-12:55 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our team will compete at Washington Middle School on December 8th. For more information or to sign up, please see Ms. Weber in the guidance area. Our first practice will be Monday, October 22nd. Only 10 members will be selected, so if you are interested, sign up as soon as possible.
2) The following girls still need to turn in volleyball uniforms: Taylor Greenwald, Elihda Saito, Diana Anrak, Cheyann Wharton, Valea Collins, Marlonda Bell, Brytnee O’Hara, Demetria Mims, Megan Lynch, Maddi Oneill, Jordyn Heiderscheit, Rebecca Schueller, Alex Sprecher, Samantha Olsen, Tia Burns, McKenzie Updike, and Kiara Stephenson. Turn uniforms into Mr. Hatcher ASAP.
3) Anyone interested in signing up for wrestling, do so now in the main office.
4) The only Leap classes running for today's early release are Wizard of Oz and Homework Help. The Wizard of Oz is at the Library, a bus will be here at 12:45 to pick you up and return to school by 4:00. Jewelry Making is cancelled for today, but will be rescheduled for February. Y Club will meet at regular time today but there will be no transportation from Jefferson.

3) 8th grade baseball tryouts for Hempstead will take place from Monday, April 30th through Tuesday, May 8th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Core Field.
4) Our final dance for the school year will be held tomorrow, April 20th, from 2:30-4:30 PM. Wristbands are $3 and will be sold at all lunches on the day of the dance. An ID is required for the dance. Replacement IDs can be purchased in the main office next week every day but Friday. Concessions will be available for purchase, including bake sale items and root beer floats. The theme for this dance is neon and tie dye. Student Government is sponsoring a dodge ball tournament which will be held at the dance. Sign up with a team of 7-10 members. The cost to participate in dodge ball is $1 per person. If you are interested in having a dodge ball team with your friends, you will need to sign up by today, APRIL 19th at 2:30 PM. No teams will be allowed to sign up at the dance. They will be sharing their projects with local scientists at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium on Wednesday, April 25th. Team members include: Lizzie Grace, Sam Weiland, Ashley Otting, Stephanie Oberfoell, Laura Swank, and Bella Metcalf.

2) Students - The computer lab is very busy now during homebase. If you need a spot, get a pass early and we will assign you a computer. If not, you might not be able to "drop-in" and use the computer. If you sign up for a computer and no longer need one, it is important that you let us know.
Also, next week after you clean out your locker, clean out your backpack and get your lost or overdue library books returned! A great resolution for the new year would be to have no overdue books for the rest of the year! Thank you from Mrs. Neyens and Ms Cairns.
3) If you ordered any black sweatshirts, black sweatpants, long or short sleeve t-shirts, please stop by the main office, pay and take your merchandise.

You can color the picture on the front and write a little Holiday message on the inside. They cost 25 cents each. You pick them up from Cart Mart starting tomorrow. You must have a school id to attend the dance and ID's will not be made on Friday.

2) Students - The computer lab is very busy now during homebase. If you need a spot, get a pass early and we will assign you a computer. If not, you might not be able to "drop-in" and use the computer. If you sign up for a computer and no longer need one, it is important that you let us know.

4) The first Jefferson dance is today from 2:30-4:30. The cost to attend is $3. We will have a DJ in the South gym and open gym in the North gym. Snacks such as chips, cookies, and pizza will be available for purchase. Students with multiple office referrals or suspensions will not be able to attend.
5) Reminder...Any volleyball player who has not turned in their shirt and shorts, please turn them into the main office as soon as possible to avoid charges.
