1) Today is a Day A.
2) Birthdays...January 26th...Adam Kuennen, Kaylee Olson, Sierra Sanchez.
3) Reminder to 8th Grade Students...Senior High School's Open House for incoming freshmen is Monday, January 30th at 7 p.m. in the Nora Gym.
4) The students in the jazz band and the students in the talent show will be practicing today. All students in the talent show will eat at 11:00 and then report to the auditorium for a full rehearsal. The students in the talent show are: Marshon Crowder, Tabitha Smith, Deric Gienau, Paisley Kascel, Jerrell Bolton, Kohler Miller, Megan Grounau, Katie Stringer, Charisma Cruz, Jasmine Mace, MyCal Hall, Detemetria Mims, Ashlyne Sanders, Sidney Sanders, Taylor Reynolds, Justice Heinold, Makyala Lurry, Savion Williams, Makayla Gardner, Taniya Land, Akira Dennis, Annika Hogstrom, Grace Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Elizabeth Grisinger, Jared Barth, Aubrey Mayers, Heather Hostager (sound, lights, props, and curtain) …Plus the jazz band… Thanks, Ms. Baumann

3) Reminder to 8th Grade Students...Senior High School's Open House for incoming freshmen is Monday, January 30th at 7 p.m. in the Nora Gym.
4) Congratulations to the following students; all were finalists for the prestigious Belin-Blank Summer Institute. Kyle Begle, Noah Sabers, Adam Mueller, Megan Gronau, Carrie Klein, Nick Miller, Marshon Crowder, Riki Campa, Dominick Cook, and Christine Flaherty. Student who were chosen and will now compete against other students in the state of Iowa to attend the BSI classes are; Jameel Kelly, Tia Zimmerman, Luke Harwood, Rebecca Schueller, Jessica Stewart, Katie Stringer, Paisley Kascel, and Josh Zimmerman. Good luck and we hope you make it.
5) Anyone interested in participating in a telescope club please see Mr. Hatcher. Students still have the opportunity to participate in Math Counts club and chess club. See Mr. Hatcher if you have any questions. Reminder to students who are playing winter sports, if you have any failing grades you are ineligible until you raise your grades. Students are reminded to enter their Live Healthy Data in their agendas everyday! Broom Ball has been cancelled as a LEAP program, but you can still sign up for all activities, check the LEAP bulletin board.

2) If you ordered any black sweatshirts, black sweatpants, long or short sleeve t-shirts, please stop by the main office, pay and take your merchandise.
3) Please remember to save Box Tops, Swiss Valley Milk lids and Campbell soup labels while baking over the holidays.
4) Thank you to the students who auditioned for the talent show. We had 57 try outs. Unfortunately, not all the acts can be in the show. The list of those acts that were selected by the judges are on the door in the guidance area.
5) No Orchestra class or lessons today.

3)Used Shoe Drive TJMS will be holding a shoe drive from December 1st to December 20th. Bring all of your old athletic shoes to the main office. All of the shoes will be taken to a Nike plant and recycled. If you have any questions please contact Emily Schleter, House 7-1.
4) It's book fair time! This fair is a regular, full-price book fair but new this year is an online fair. Pick up a flyer in the library to access the online site and anything you purchase will arrive at Jefferson by the 15th of December and the library will earn points for new books.

If you are interested in trying out for the show, you should prepare an act and come to one of the after school times and present your act to the panel of judges. We are not able to put all of the acts in the final show, so the judges rate the acts on whether they are interesting and show preparation and talent. All acts should be between 1 and 4 minutes long and contain nothing that is offensive. You can pick up specific guidelines from Ms. Baumann or Ms. Roussel in the guidance office. For those acts needing accompanying music, there will be a computer with internet access available during the auditions.

Also, be aware if you have a book that has been overdue since September, you will receive a charge for it. If you are not sure, check with Ms. Cairns or Mrs. Neyens.
3) It's book fair time! This fair is a regular, full-price book fair but new this year is an online fair. Pick up a flyer in the library to access the online site and anything you purchase will arrive at Jefferson by the 15th of December and the library will earn points for new books.

Students need to report to the auditorium on Tuesday, December 6th at 11:00. Please let your homebase teacher know where you are going and you will return to your homebase immediately following the Spelling Bee. The top 5 winners will move on to the next round at Washington Middle School. Good luck and be sure to study this weekend!
