1) Today is day A.
2) Attention future Mustang Basketball players. The Mustang basketball program will be holding two fundamental drills and skills camp this summer. Boys grades 3-7, camp will be July 2, 3, 5, 6 from 9-11:15 at Moody Gym. 8th graders get to attend camp with the high school players on June 5th, 6th, 7th, from 7:00-9:00 and on June 8th from 2-4:30. Attendance is highly recommended for all boys planning on playing basketball in high school. Honors and a t-shirt will be rewarded at the conclusion of camp. COST: $50 per camper (each additional family member only $25) payable to Mustang Boys Basketball due the first day of camp or can be sent to the activities office at Hempstead High School 3715 Pennsylvania Ave. See Mr. Hatcher if you want a sign-up form. Go Stangs!
3) Last Day! The library is hosting a Scholastic "Buy One, Get One Free" Book Fair. Stop in and stock up on your summer reading supplies.
4) Be sure to save Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels and Milk Caps over the summer break.
5) Choir students will be leaving class at about 1:25 today to sing for the 8th grade awards assembly in the auditorium.
6) To avoid being charged, please turn in track uniforms and any other uniforms that have not been turned in.

Student Announcements - Wednesday, May 30, 2012 Day A

Girls Summer Tennis GIRLS MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER TENNIS HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS EVERY TUESDAY MORNING beginning Tuesday, June 5, 2012 ONE HOUR SESSIONS: 9-10am for Grades 6 and 7, 10-11am for Grades 7 and 8 THE PROGRAM IS FREE PARTICPANTS SHOULD BE PHYSICALLY FIT AND REASONABLY ATHLETIC, HAVE THEIR OWN TENNIS RACQUET, AND A GOOD PAIR OF TENNIS SHOES If you are interested please sign up in the main office.

3)Used Shoe Drive TJMS will be holding a shoe drive from December 1st to December 20th. Bring all of your old athletic shoes to the main office. All of the shoes will be taken to a Nike plant and recycled. If you have any questions please contact Emily Schleter, House 7-1.
4) It's book fair time! This fair is a regular, full-price book fair but new this year is an online fair. Pick up a flyer in the library to access the online site and anything you purchase will arrive at Jefferson by the 15th of December and the library will earn points for new books.
5) Used Shoe Drive TJMS will be holding a shoe drive from December 1st to December 20th. Bring all of your old athletic shoes to the main office. All of the shoes will be taken to a Nike plant and recycled. If you have any questions please contact Emily Schleter, House 7-1.
6) Attention students...Do you have a talent such as singing, playing an instrument, or dancing? Auditions for this year's talent show will be after school on December 14th or 15th from 2:45-4:00. If you are interested in trying out for the show, you should prepare an act and come to one of the after school times and present your act to the panel of judges. We are not able to put all of the acts in the final show, so the judges rate the acts on whether they are interesting and show preparation and talent. All acts should be between 1 and 4 minutes long and contain nothing that is offensive. You can pick up specific guidelines from Ms. Baumann or Ms. Roussel in the guidance office. For those acts needing accompanying music, there will be a computer with internet access available during the auditions.

3) Sports Today - Girls Basketball...Jefferson vs. Roosevelt Purple. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Roosevelt; both games begin at 4 p.m.
4) Sports Today - Wrestling...Jefferson vs. Roosevelt vs. Mazzuchelli at Mazzuchelli beginning at 4 p.m.
5) Birthdays today - December 8th...Tyler Humphrey, Taylor Rehfeldt.
6) It's book fair time! This fair is a regular, full-price book fair but new this year is an online fair. Pick up a flyer in the library to access the online site and anything you purchase will arrive at Jefferson by the 15th of December and the library will earn points for new books.

2) Attention students - there are currently 323 overdue items from the library - let's get those returned or renewed so you can check out more books! Also, be aware if you have a book that has been overdue since September, you will receive a charge for it. If you are not sure, check with Ms. Cairns or Mrs. Neyens.
3) It's book fair time! This fair is a regular, full-price book fair but new this year is an online fair. Pick up a flyer in the library to access the online site and anything you purchase will arrive at Jefferson by the 15th of December and the library will earn points for new books.
