6) MathCounts will be meeting today afterschool from 2:30-3:30 in Mr. Meier's room. This is an important meeting to attend as you will be taking a practice test for the competition. If you have any questions, see Mr. Meier in Room 107.

8) Congratulations to two 8th grade students who won prizes in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest. Michaela Uptegraph's essay won first place. Mia Burns' essay won second place. Congratulations ladies!
8) Drama Club: On Monday, January 7th we will be starting a Jefferson drama club. The drama club will meet during 5th period on Mondays and Thursdays. The drama club is not directly connected to the spring musical, but the drama club will work on the basics of acting on stage, so anyone interested in participating in this years' musical would definitely benefit from the experience. Please sign-up in the office if you are interested. If you are involved in other activities during 5th hour, but would like to participate in the drama club, please sign-up anyway. If we have a large enough number interested we will try to set up an after school club as well.
