Student Announcements - Friday, September 14, 2012 Day B

1) Students are reminded at the end of the day, you need to be out of the building by 2:40pm. Do not linger in hallways. If you are planning on attending an after school event, you must leave school grounds and return at the start of the event. While attending an after school event, you are not permitted to come in or out of building, you are here to watch, and be supportive to Jefferson students participating. If you are not watching the event, you will be asked to leave. Appropriate behavior is expected while watching after school events, any and all inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and you will be escorted out of the building. No exceptions.

2) LEAP registrations can still be turned into the main office.

3) Happy Birthday - September 14th...Kyle Ridgeway, Josie Schoenberger. September 15th...Jacob Hoyne, Jared Hoyne, Nicholas Miller. September 16th...Shalann Kobin, Logan Moore.

4) 6th Grade Boys Track today after school.

5) Sports Today...Girls Red Volleyball - Jefferson Red vs. Roosevelt Black. 7th grade at Roosevelt and 8th grade at Jefferson; both games begin at 4 p.m. Jefferson Cross Country Meet at Fillmore beginning at 4:30 p.m.

6) Leap Programs begin on Monday, September 17th.

Iowa Youth Survey Attention: Parents/Guardians We will be offering the Iowa Youth Survey this year for grades 6, 8, and 11. Please review this in the Parent-Student Handbook under Health and Wellness for information regarding the purpose of the survey and your rights as a parent/guardian. The deadline for receiving refusal of consent is September 20, 2012. The survey is offered every two years in the fall. This year it will offered between September 24 and November 2 of 2012. The District will post the notification in the Handbook each year instead of mailing individual letters. If you need a copy of the Handbook, please contact your student’s school. Student Announcements - Thursday, September 6, 2012 Day B

1) Remember to save Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels and Prairie Farms Milk Caps, there will be a contest coming soon!

2) 6th grade girls track meets tonight immediately after school.

3) Sports Today...Girls Volleyball - Jefferson Red vs. Washington Blue. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Washington; both games begin at 4 p.m. 8th Grade Football - Jefferson vs. Mazzuchelli at Jefferson beginning at 4 p.m. 7th and 8th Girls/Boys Cross Country - Meet at the Dubuque Soccer Complex beginning at 4:30 p.m.

4) Students interested in joining Dare to Be King or Queen, report to the auditorium on Friday, September 7th at 12:30 for a short informational meeting.

5) Do not wear any type of ear plugs or ear phones during the school day. Keep them in your locker. If an adult tells you to take them off, just do it. They are not allowed over or under your shirt.

Student Announcements - Wednesday, September 5, 2012 Day A

4) Pictures today for volleyball and cross-country after school.

5) Sports Today...Girls Volleyball - Jefferson Red vs. Roosevelt Silver. 7th grade at Roosevelt and 8th grade at Jefferson; both games begin at 4 p.m. Good luck to the Red Volleyball teams.

6) If you walk home after school use good common sense and use the sidewalks. Do not walk down the middle of the street. The streets are very busy and we do not want to see anyone get hurt.

7) Last day for LEAP registration is today. Get your registration turned into the office ASAP!

Student Announcements - Tuesday, August 21, 2012 Day A

1) Any student that is interested in participating in Cross Country should sign up in the big cafeteria during lunch. Please meet Mrs. Meyer in the back parking lot by the tree after school today. Mrs. Meyer will hand out an emergency card and concussion form that needs to be taken home and filled out. If you ride the bus and did not plan on staying, please stop in Mrs. Meyer’s room located on the third floor, room 223. All forms, including the physical form needs to be filled out and signed before any student can participate in practice. The official practice will begin on Wednesday, August 22nd.

2) Volleyball practice for the 7th & 8th grades, will begin Wednesday, August 22nd. Students will not be allowed to practice until all their paperwork is completed and have a recent physical on file in the main office. Also, there are sign up sheets that will be in the lunchroom for students to sign today and tomorrow.

4) Reminder...Any girls interested in the Dream All-Girl Middle School Full Day Event on October 15th, should stop by the main office and pick up a brochure.

A reminder to 8th Grade GOLD volleyball team only: there is no practice on Friday September 23.

4) Any girls interested in the Dream (All-Girl Middle School Full Day Event) on October 15th, please stop by the main office and pick up a brochure. 

5) 6th grade boys intramural track practice is today. 

6) Sports Today...Volleyball - Jefferson Gold vs. Drexler Red. 7th Grade at Drexler and 8th grade at Jefferson; both games begin at 4 p.m. 

7) Sports Today...Cross Country (Boys and Girls) - Bobcat Invitational at Western Dubuque High School in Epworth beginning at 4:30 p.m. 

8) No Dare to be King or Queen today, September 29th during and after school. Students please remember to get your paper work in by Tuesday, October 4th.
