Student Announcements - Tuesday, January 31, 2012 Day B
1) Today is a Day B.
2) All students are reminded to be logging their physical activity minutes and fruit servings on a daily basis so they can turn the logs into their Wellness teachers for Live Healthy Iowa Kids.
3) Sports Today...Boys Basketball - Drexler Black vs. Jefferson Gold. 7th grade at Drexler and 8th grade at Jefferson; both games beginning at 4 p.m.
Boys Basketball Players Boys on any of the four basketball teams need to remember that they are a team. Yes, some play in the A game and others in the B game, however you are ONE team. All players are expected to be a part of the team for both games. If your game is over and there is still another game to be played you need to stay there with the team and support them just like they did for you while you played. Mr. Kramer
Student Expectations at Basketball Games Any student that attends the basketball games at Jefferson must follow the following expectations:
1. Just like in school. No hats, hoods, etc.
2. Cell phones should be used on a limited basis. If you are going to be on your cell often you will be asked to leave.
3. Do not interfere with others as they watch the game. If your conversations are loud or you are pounding your hands or feet on the bleachers, etc., you are preventing other guests from enjoying the game.
4. You are not allowed to leave the school building and return. Once you walk outside you are not coming back in.
5. No public displays of affection such as holding hands; arms around each other, etc. is allowed. This is not appropriate for middle school.
6. Be positive in all of your comments and cheer on the Jefferson players. Negative comments or inappropriate language is not acceptable nor will it be tolerated.
7. Continually going in and out of the gym is not appropriate and it causes a distraction to those that are there to enjoy the game. If you are continuously going in and out of the gym you will be asked to leave.
8. No one is allowed on the basketball court except the players, coaches, officials, and other assigned personnel.
9. You may be banned from attending any after school performances for any of the above infractions or any other disrespectful behavior. Attending these activities is a privilege.
10. It is important that you support your friends as they participate in these activities. Please do so in an appropriate way without disrespecting other guests opportunity to enjoy the game as well. Thank you, Mr. Kramer

3) Reminder to 8th Grade Students...Senior High School's Open House for incoming freshmen is Monday, January 30th at 7 p.m. in the Nora Gym.
4) The students in the jazz band and the students in the talent show will be practicing today. All students in the talent show will eat at 11:00 and then report to the auditorium for a full rehearsal. The students in the talent show are: Marshon Crowder, Tabitha Smith, Deric Gienau, Paisley Kascel, Jerrell Bolton, Kohler Miller, Megan Grounau, Katie Stringer, Charisma Cruz, Jasmine Mace, MyCal Hall, Detemetria Mims, Ashlyne Sanders, Sidney Sanders, Taylor Reynolds, Justice Heinold, Makyala Lurry, Savion Williams, Makayla Gardner, Taniya Land, Akira Dennis, Annika Hogstrom, Grace Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Elizabeth Grisinger, Jared Barth, Aubrey Mayers, Heather Hostager (sound, lights, props, and curtain) …Plus the jazz band… Thanks, Ms. Baumann
