1) Hempstead strength and conditioning coach, Nathan Oswalt is hosting a free “middle school strength clinic”. Any 7th or 8th grade boy or girl is welcome to attend. Session begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. See Mr. Hatcher for more details or ask your homebase teacher.

2) Chess Club will meet from 3-4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4th.

3) Sports Today - Boys Red Basketball...Jefferson Red vs. Washington White. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Washington; both games begin at 4 p.m.

4) Birthdays Today - January 30th...Sydney Hammel, Dylan Richey. January 31st...Maxwell Schumacher. February 1st...Kameron SandersCoulthard.

5) Teens Tackling Tough Topics is a great opportunity for teens to discuss social pressures and other issues teens face today in a safe and welcoming place. Potential field trips activities and team building games will take place at each meeting. Sign up through LEAP today, the club will meet every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of February.

6 Any 8th graders that didn't go to the High School Open Houses on Monday, January 29th please see Mrs. Schroeder in Guidance.

4) Sports Today - Boys Gold Basketball...Jefferson Gold vs. Washington Blue. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Washington; both games begin at 4 p.m.

5) Birthdays Today - January 29th...Taylor Gloden.

6) Students are reminded, if you are attending an after school sporting event, you are not allowed to hang around school till game begins. You must leave school grounds at 2:30 then return when game starts at 4:00 p.m. One option would be to attend a LEAP activity till the game begins.

3) Chess Club will NOT meet today, January 28th from 3-4 p.m. It has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 4th.

4) No homework help after school today, January 26th due to collateral time for teachers.

8) Please excuse 7/8th grade orchestra members today, January 28th at 11:00 for a presentation on how strings are made. Presentation courtesy of West Music and D’addario strings. Students will attend 7/8th grade orchestra during period 0 and return for Period 4 Homebase in the orchestra room, they will be released at 11:35 for lunch and period 5 respectively. Students with interventions should not attend the presentation.

8) Congratulations to 6th and 7th grades. You have both tied after 6 weeks of Spirit Days. Each grade earned 105 points each. You will be receiving a special treat from Mr. Kramer in the near future. Congratulations again and remember, wear your Jefferson Apparel every Friday!
