Student Announcements - Thursday, September 18, 2013 Day A

1) 6th Grade Intramural Track and Field today after school for boys only.

2) Sports Today - Girls Red Volleyball...Jefferson Red vs. Roosevelt Silver. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Roosevelt; both games begin at 4 p.m.

3) Actors and Actresses...The Bell Tower Theater is offering acting classes for students in grades 6-8. If you are interested, stop in the main office to pick up a flyer.

4) Every Monday/Thursday from now until December 5th...7th and 8th grade Lego League will be meeting in the auditorium during period 5.

5) Every Tuesday/Friday from now until November 5th...Mock Trial will be meeting in the auditorium during period 5.

6) Wear your Jefferson apparel on Friday. Every Friday is HillHawk Spirit Day!

RE-DEDICATION OF DALZELL FIELD Join us for the dawn of a new era at the RE-DEDICATION OF DALZELL FIELD Sunday, September 22 2 p.m. A short program will be followed by a community open house of the new facility, with access to the team rooms, press box, field and more. Students are invited to wear their school colors and join in a celebratory lap around the new stadium. Plus, see the stadium's memorial plaza featuring a bronze statue of Jay Berwanger, the nation's first Heisman Trophy winner, and granite wall honoring Berwanger and his legendary Dubuque coach Wilbur Dalzell. We hope to see you there!

5) The much anticipated football season will start on Monday night Sept 16th at the new renovated HillHawk field. The 7th graders are taking on the Pirates from Galena. 8th grade teams begin their season on Tuesday Sept. 17th. Good luck Hillhawks!

4) Mock Trial will be meeting today with Mrs. Boxleiter during period 5 in the auditorium.

5) Sports Today - Girls Gold Volleyball...Jefferson Gold vs. Mazzuchelli Gold. 7th grade at Mazzuchelli and 8th grade at Jefferson; both games begin at 4 p.m.

6) Congrats to the RED volleyball teams who played their openers on Monday night. The 7th graders won 5 out of the 6 games, and the 8th graders showed vast improvements from last season. Paige Connolly showed great improvement in her serves, she led the team in scoring for the night. Great Job Ladies. Gold volleyball teams begin their season on Thursday night. Go get them Hillhawks!
