This week is Teacher Appreciation Week From Socrates in ancient times to teachers in our classrooms today, educators have shared the wonder of learning with their students. Learning begins with one little spark of wonder that leads you to discover the world around you. Classical scholar, Edith Hamilton, paraphrased Socrates, saying that: Wisdom begins with wonder. When wonder takes hold, you begin to gain wisdom and understanding that can last a lifetime. Someone wise once said: What a teacher writes on the blackboard of life can never be erased.* Whether you are studying the world of Socrates or discovering galaxies beyond our own, let your teacher be your guide. Take advantage of the opportunities that you have at our school to light that little spark of wonder, then take a moment to say thank you to a teacher. With something to think about, this is Mr. Kramer. Make it a great day . . . or not. The choice is yours.
